Physics O Physics (Semi-English vers)

As you guys know, i'm kinda science-minded (or you can say NERD if you want) and science is the only subject i cope up well with rather than the others. Not that I always good scores or I'm good in it, but science provides me such an enjoyable process to gain knowledge, from completely nothing to something. That is the reason why i take all 3 science subjects with me in my elective subject.

Diantara 3 pelajaran IPA, pasti yang punya cerita tuh FISIKA. dari dulu pertama aku kelas 7, sampe sekarang, pasti yang paling berkesan deh. Kesan baik, kesan buruk.. kesan buruk lebih banyak kayaknya? hahaha.

I do still remember how i struggled so hard to understand the terms used in Physics when i first time studied that in grade 7. It was taught in Indonesian, but too many strange new words for me!! I don't even know what 'relative' means at that time. I kept ignoring that weakness, and well.. as a result, many red marks which no parents love it.. you know what i mean :P Since then, starting from grade 8 my mom made me having extra private session at school to catch up. Didnt enjoy that at the first time, at all..! you know how tiring to have your brain forced to work until 8 pm after school. all I wanted to do was sleeping or gaming. haa.. lazy girl :P But soon, like 4-5 weeks after, i started to have that confidence, then slowly can get along well with it, and at the first time i got 100 out of 100, you dont know how happy i was! I still remember it was about electricity, which i wasnt sure it would be easy to get through. Starting from that time, I start getting the essential part of physics : sketch it in your mind.


Time goes by and last time i feel good about physics was when i did quite well in the regional science olympiad. The only physics olympiad i've ever participated in and i made a remarkable result, how exciting! But there was also a time when it was exciting enough for me but not for my friends :( Once I had an exam and i was the only one who got 100 out of 100 and almost the whole class didnt pass it, i was in grade 10 at that time. so sad hey :(


But now, things seems to be back to its origin. again. I have to adapt with the LANGUAGE (arrgghh why why why? Physics is supposed to deal with numbers but i always get stucked in the wordssssss!!). So lucky i have a very caring teacher. He understood that i'm a slow learner in this case and i have to adapt with a new learning system too!

Everything here is all online-based. The book, the assignments, even the schedule! My teacher is soo high-tech minded i guess. He uses sources what other teachers dont do, actually i must say his system is very interesting!! but ohh.. i forget to mention this, we don't have a specific lab room for experiments, we use the class both for lab and studying. but you know what? the sets are just awesome!! like i said, very hi-tech! ga ada ceritanya bikin laporan tulis tangan euy.. aku masih inget jaman2 nggarisi marginnya kertas buat bikin laporan. hahaha.

Jadi, tiap anak disuruh download template untuk laporan tiap2 praktikum. enak bo' tinggal ngetik masukin data.. trus alat2nya juga terhubung sama USB jadi udah terekam langsung ke dlm template file itu. Bahkan, perhitungan kurva2 pun udah dia (softwarenya) yang ngitungin..! weenak tenaan.. :P Pengumpulannya lewat flash disk ke server yang udah ada di sekolah. Go green banget ya, less paper used nah? :)

So far itu dulu yah yang ku ceritain.. it's way too late here! i should sleep anyway :)

Let's talk about school..!

Hoolaa peoplee..!! Long time no see hey. Oh, not that long i guess :D well as i said before, i wont be able to write here everyday but i'll make sure i won't leave this blog abandoned :D i'm in my break now.. Not particularly a 'break', i don't have class for the next 2 hours and i decided to spend a lil bit time writing something new here!

Well, the topic now is about school, and stuff.. Not actually the most interesting topic to be talked about, but this is why i'm here eh? I think some of the readers want to know how's school going here, especially my dad (if he reads my blog anyway haha)

Should i really call this a school? Nah i dont think so.. This place is not a school, this is a college. Don't know if some says school and college is the same, but for me it's different. I don't have to wear uniforms, I don't have fixed schedule, and there's no grading here (like grade 10, grade 11, etc.) so i don't think school is a proper word.

I have to take 2 buses to get here, one is bus 435 which destination is to the city, and from the city i have to walk a bit to catch the free bus called 'the spring hill loop'. I walk for like 3-4 mins from home to the bus stop called 'Greentrees East', then the bus will come and i get off at the queen street bus station, which is located 'under' the queen street mall.. usually the bus drop me off in platform B (I'll talk about platforms later!). Then I have to walk again to the other side of the street, where in front of Commonwealth Bank there's the bus stop for the free buses which departs every 10 mins. I live quite far from the college anyway, it takes me around 45 mins if there's no traffic (for the whole trip).i have LOTS of stuff to be shared related to bus, however, let's save that topic for my next post! ;)

Mind me saying this, but if im allowed to compare my previous school (where i go to for around 13 years) and this current place where i'm going to study for the next one year.. It's just completely DIFFERENT. Al Hikmah is.. Well you know, with its facilities, classes, fields, car parking, a very school-typical environment. This college i go to, it's a 7 story building, with a lecture theatre. For those who are expecting me to lose some weight after i come back from australia, don't be happy yet! I know it's a PERFECT place to do exercising by not using the lift and just take the stairs to go everywhere. But i'm insane if i have class in level 7 and i have to take stairs from level 1. I'm definitely gonna be dizzy! Anyway, instead of the high building, there are plenty lots of nice shops across the street and around, where i can buy tuna sandwich and cookies or chocolate bars and banana milk.. Mmmmmm! See how that 'balanced' all the energy i spent by having a moving class system? ;)

Hmm anyway, i have 5 subjects here. Math and english is compulsory, and i have the other 3 electives - i chose all science subjects because i have no idea what to do with accountings, economics, behavioural science (i believe it's called sosiologi in indonesia), or the other subjects. I won't be so careless to enroll in a class where i start from the zero point. It will affect my GPA oii.. Too risky!

i have a various schedule.. I will rather call tuesdays and wednesdays as 'busy days', thursdays as 'kindergarten day'. 'Busy days' is simply because my schedule is like from 9 to 5.30. The worst part is when the teacher ends the class 5.30 sharp, i have to running running (mblayu2 maksudnya) to catch the 435 bus back home, and the last bus departs at 6.15. If the teacher ends the class at 5.30 sharp, i cant take the 5.30 free bus since by the time i arrive at the stop, it will be already a few mins past 5.30. so the only option is waiting for the 5.40 bus or 5.55 bus. but see, it takes like 20 mins to get to the city, in case there's traffic. I always make prediction based on the worst possibility, so well.. without further explaination i bet you can imagine how suffering it is to be in race with the time!!


Well, about the subjects, i think i need to specify each subjects in different posts, so i can tell more details about what happens in each class.. now i owe you so much topic huh? haha. but that's worth it though :) i'm responsible to make every single time become memorable and lasts forever, so this is one way i can do..

I think i'm going to be free this weekend, so perhaps i will write more later.

The Few-Hours-To-Be-There Day

Wednesday, 21st of July 2010.

I was with my friends - Bobo, Gee, and Danny - bursting ourselves in panic and worry. It's nearly 9 am but we still had no idea about which class to go and where and what time. In a while i got the access to log in to myfy, the thing to do the student-n-teacher communication and all things related to the lessons, and got my personal timetable. Yess!

I was busy taking notes about the schedule, and was NEARLY finished after rushing because Danny wanted to use my computer, when suddenly I saw Bobo was carrying a piece of paper of her own schedule.

Me (P) : Where'd you get that??

Bobo (B) : I printed it.

Oh yeah, nice. Why didn't i think of it? An innocent grin just came up in my face with Danny pointing me the link for printing that timetable.

Danny and I chose the same subjects, which are Physics, Biology, and Chemistry, so once after we got our schedule printed, i was about to check whether we're in the same class or not. But when Danny opened his myfy..

Danny (D) : Hang on, this must be a mistake, who chose Business Management???

M : Well probably it's someone else's TT.

I looked through mine.. hmm so far just fine.. wednesday.. what's my first class today? Ah.. biology at 11.. and next.. chemistry.. at 11.. wait wait, what? 11 too??

M : Look, they want me to be in different classes at the same time!

D : Yeah I think the TT is wrong. We got to see Max!

M : Yeah we shall! let's go then!

I then asked Rebecca (the reception girl) where Max's room is. But as Danny had a class at 9, so he decided to talk to Max later.

Well, that was a bit chaos on our first day of lesson!

The good news is that today, i only have ONE class to attend. yeah, believe your eyes, i wrote ONE. Naww i feel like in a kindergarten now! :D It started at 9, and finished at 11. Well that's not the best, some even had a day off today since the BM class will start next week. Bobo was one of those lucky students who only have to attend one BM lesson every thursday then HOME TIME! :)

I bet some of you know where to find me when my class ends earlier. If you think of a word m-a-l-l, then yes.. you're right! Bobo didnt come to school, Danny had another class to attend after Biology, so it's only me and Gee having this lucky time together. We both missed rice and we planned to eat something 'asian' in the Thai resto across the street. But when we reached there, it's closed :( So i came up with the idea to find something nice in the city. She drives and she has GPS (aye, we both don't know how to get there. we're newcomers haha), perfect then!

As soon as we got in the car, we went straight to the city to hopefully find something ricey to be eaten. The problem now is that i always take a bus to get to the city so i can't suggest anything to Gee about where to park the car! and finally, we found an indoor parking lot, where we were given coins n stuff. Dunno if it goes as the 'ticket' but when we already parked the car, and we saw the cost for parking there, i think we should have just taken a bus!! $22 per hour for the first 2 hours, what the heck.. never seen anything more expensive than that! :D If we had taken the bus, it wud cost us nothing coz the bus is free haha.

So anyway, we went straight to the food court coz we're starving for rice already. Perfect.. i saw asian resto and hmm let me see the menu.

Uh oh, bad news, i cant eat here because it contains pork procucts. ahh come onn i want RICE!

and when i walked a bit to the south, i found an Indian resto that sells halal foods. YUM! this is what i mean!! I was just like a miser, like i never ate rice before, and saw that rice like i see tons of golds in front of my eyes. Ooooh look at how spicy that curry is.. mm.. so I had that curry with a tiny pack of banana milk. mmm perfect perfect.

The interesting fact is when i asked Gee to have my curry, she said 'nah i dont like curry'. She's Malaysian but she doesn't like curry.. hmmm it should be like an Indonesian who doesnt like Tempe Goreng. hehe ^^

Well, so today I had to do a little shopping too.. couldn't help myself not to buy this cute fruit-flies headset.. which costed me $10.. and oh, i wish i could afford that liberty statue 4GB USB flashdisk :( but nah, i don't need it yet. won't waste $40 for something i don't really need at the moment. There were also a paperbox-speaker, cute photo frames, and many more! oh, i bought 2 highlighter pens for 1 dollar anyway. cheap one aye? :)

Hmm.. so what im gonna do now, is getting myself on a warm sleeping dress, and jump in to the bed and sleep! hehe. Good night everyone, have a great night!!

Grand Opening of The Blog

Hello everyone!

yeahh it's me budhe, again.. on my ___th blog (not sure what number i should put on that blank :D) but dont worry, this time it will be the only one.. coz i have deleted the others since they brought me a lot of problem and unpleasant past memories that i dont want to recall frm my mind :)

Oh anyways, I've got some rules for myself from now on about making a blog. This time, I will make 2 articles each time i log in. One is Indonesian, and the other one is English. So there wont be any misunderstanding or suspicions and stuff.. I'll try to write it as close as i can though. Even i know some Indo jokes are not funny when it's translated to English haha :)

Hmm and the second.. I probably wont be able to update this blog everyday.. but I will try to write here as often as i can. When my schedule allows me to come and write, i promise i will :)

Last but not least.. hmm actually this is not just for me, this is for all the readers too.. Just enjoy everything you read here, as much as i enjoy writing it down. Please, no offense, no rude comments, ahh it will make it just the same as my old blog, and i will stop writing again.

This is a good start for me, and for all of you too.. because I won't come up with anymore silly grumpy articles about breakups or annoying school moments or things. I will try to put something useful, and maybe a lil bit sharing about how life goes on here ;-)
